Merapi Volcano Museum

You will be going home to Yogyakarta and have free time to walk? Merapi Volcano Museum could become attractive options for the visit. In addition to a tour, visitors also learn about kegunungapian in the world, especially to study the phenomenon of Mount Merapi, the most active mountain in the world.
Merapi Volcano Museum is located in the Village Harjobinangun, Cangkringan District, Sleman District about 25 kilometers from Yogyakarta. Location can be achieved through Jalan Kaliurang, Yogyakarta. 
 
Around mile 20, you will find arrows to the left indicating the direction of the Museum of Merapi Volcano. Follow the arrow until you reach the museum. 


The building is unique, forming a cone which describe the fusion of modern and traditional architecture of Yogyakarta. Merapi Mountain into the background of the museum which was inaugurated in 2009 was its use. If Merapi does not shrouded in fog, staring at the museum building background of Mount Merapi has been very entertaining.
Mockups of Mount Merapi was on the front entrance welcomes visitors. There, visitors can learn the Merapi eruption melt from year to year.

Museum is open every day, also when Eid later. Ticket booth is open from 09:00 until 15:00. When the fast counter is open 09:00 until 14:30.
